JADS 3D BRAND LOGO
Creation of 3D brand form 2D design
The Project
Straight off the back creating a test scene of a glass brand id and splash objects I had my best friend John Wedin contact me to create a 3D brand logo for his new studio.
He was impressed by my first renders and wanted to keep them similar for now.
You can check out John’s amazing brand work below:
The Execution
I took his Illustrator profiles and imported into Cinema 4d for extrusion. Created two offset profiles, one for outer letters and one for the inner (to cut out) then boole cut them.
I created a droplet wave from the middle as a circle using a b/w displacement deformer to create the wave effect, then boole cut this into the inner shapes to create the liquid in all 4 glass letters. Very important to extrude the liquid letter shapes by a tiny margin inwards, if they touch you won’t get a real caustic effect in the glass.
The paint splash was taken from two of PixelLabs water splashes and applied a gloss blue paint onto. I used very subtle micro scratches on the glass, just enough to make it look more real and less CGI.
I used a papyrus material for the background and coloured up in his brand blue and used depth of field to give that dramatic cinema look for the closeups. All rendered using Corona Renderer.
