3D WEDDING KEY ART
3D Designs form flat artwork.
The Project
John Vedin contacted me to create these two wedding invitations from his original flat designs.
They had to be simple but with high quality detail for print.
He supplied me reference images of materials, colours and lighting on mood boards for me to follow.
These were both done in two and a half days including amends.
The Execution
BECCA & HADI
He wanted the two bulls on the plinths to look like sand carving statues.
First step was to create the outline in Illustrator of the silhouette bull shapes and extrude with minimal poly density. After this I used Cinema 4D’s sculpt system to ‘paint’ the sand texture and grout lines in with high density subdivision. I used the same method for the pillars and flower.
He supplied reference patterns for the background that I ran through PixPlant 5 to extract all material channels (roughness, ao, normal & displacement). I added custom displacement maps to give them a worn wall look.
The bottom Becca & Hadi lockups were just extruded vector profiles.
All tiles were created using mograph cloners with deformers.
SAVE THE DATE
This was a lot more simple. He wanted the artwork to be embossed so created a simple displacement map with a texture map for the burgundy card.
