The Execution
I only modelled the actual base island myself using Cinema 4D’s sculpting tools to clay model the surface quickly.
I then separated the top and bottom and used displacement materials to create the rugged terrain. For all the grass, bushes and trees I used Corona’s powerful scatter system to create real vegetation.
The whole scene was lit using Corona’s sky & sun object to get good control of the shadows. I used a native C4D sky object and mapped the clouds and stars on for final renders. I wanted it to look CGI created for this.
